IAAF World Indoor Championships

The IAAF World Championships are the second, after the Olympic Games, most important athletics competition in the world.


The World Indoor Championships will take place in Poland for the first time in IAAF’s centenary history. The WIC prepresented in numbers:

    160 countries participating in the World Indoor Championships
    1500 athletes, coaches and VIPs.
    13 men and women competitions.
    140 million viewers during all TV broadcasts of the Championships.
    Live broadcasts in 87 countries, highlights in 180 countries.
    Over 1 800 hours of TV broadcasts.
    8,000 spectators and guest on each day of the WIC in the modern venue ERGO ARENA

Poland and Sopot joined the prestigous group of the world's biggest cities hosting IAAF World Indoor Championships since 1985, which are:
